Moth Trapping

Recently I purchased a moth trap from https://www.angleps.com/ so I could safely catch moths, identify them and release them. I upload all the data onto a spreadsheet and send it to a moth recorder (this is very useful scientific data).

The trap I use is Compact 20w Skinner Trap which is basically a box with a light on top which the moths fly around then fall into the box which is filled with egg cartons. They then find roost in the egg cartons for the night.

I will try and set up my moth trap as much as possible and put all my results on here with a few images!!!

Moths are split into two main categories: Macro and Micro. As I’m just beginning, I will ID the macros and will ID some micros but not all as micros tend to be trickier
